Established in 1989, Hitachi America R&D was created to place advanced research close to leading markets and customers in the Americas. Today, we support Hitachi’s core businesses across energy, mobility, industrial automation, and digital systems—helping move innovation from concept to deployment.

Our Team and Research Centers
Our multidisciplinary team of more than 100 researchers and engineers across the Americas works on challenges spanning energy systems, manufacturing, mobility, and security, among other areas—guided by a commitment to sustainability, safety, and long-term societal value.
From our strategic locations in Santa Clara, California, and Farmington Hills, Michigan, we collaborate closely with customers through a market-driven co-creation model.
