-- Providing an Exceptional Solution for the Mobile Professional, Hitachi's Micro-Portable CP-X270W Projector Debuts at NAB 2001--
LAS VEGAS, http://www.hitachi.us/, April 16, 2001 - Hitachi America, Ltd., a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., Tokyo, Japan (NYSE: HIT), today announced the latest in its LCD multimedia projector family with the addition of its first ever XGA micro-portable projector. Weighing just five pounds, the Hitachi CP-X270W with XGA resolution provides a sharper, more vivid image than standard SVGA projectors. In addition, the CP-X270W offers mobile professionals a thin, compact body that produces unparalleled brightness in the micro-portable field at 800 lumens. This model is one of three new projectors being announced in conjunction with NAB 2001, and will be displayed at Booth #M9963 at the Sands Convention Center, April 21-26.
"The unveiling of the Hitachi micro-portable XGA projector underscores our position as a leader in the LCD projector market," said Pete Denes, national sales manager of Hitachi America, Ltd., Computer Division, Multimedia Presentation Products. "With its affordable price and bevy of top-notch features, this micro-portable gives our customers an unbeatable combination."
Measuring just 2.4 inches in thickness, the Hitachi CP-X270W offers an incredibly short projection throw, requiring a distance of just five feet to project a 60-inch diagonal image. This unique feature allows the user to produce a large projected image within the confines of a limited space. By combining its small footprint with its sharp projection image, the CP-X270W is ideally suited for mobile presentations, as well as for home use and small office-home office applications. The micro-portable projector also features low background noise, further enhancing the product's functionality for use in small venues.
Other features for the CP-X270W include a sliding lens cover, built in speaker, lighted control buttons for easier use in a dark room and an optional remote mouse unit.
The Hitachi CP-X270W is priced at $5,495 and is currently available via Hitachi's network of nationwide resellers.
