BRISBANE, Calif., http://www.hitachi.us/, March 25, 2002 - Hitachi America, Ltd., a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., Tokyo, Japan (NYSE: HIT), today announced its newest premium portable LCD projector, the CP-X990W. The new projector brings brighter, more vibrant images with 3,500 lumens, and offers versatile installation with multiple video inputs, including a DVI port. This new product augments Hitachi's complete line of multimedia presentation offerings and its new features make the CP-X990W an ideal option for use in large venues. The CP-X990W will be demonstrated at NAB 2002 in Booth #L6603 in the Las Vegas Convention Center, April 8 - 11, 2002.
"Today's presentation professionals are demanding more from their projectors and we are delivering a product that raises the bar on all fronts - sophistication, performance and reliability," said Pete Denes, director of sales for Hitachi America, Ltd., Computer Division, Multimedia Presentation Products. "With the new CP-X990W, we give professionals a superior presentation tool that offers outstanding video quality combined with excellent brightness and resolution - all contained within a portable and compact footprint."
With a brightness of 3,500 lumens, Hitachi's brightest projector to date, the CP-X990W features Hitachi's Motion Adaptive Progressive Scan technology and native XGA resolution along with a 500:1 contrast ratio, combining exceptional video quality with crisp, vibrant images. Additionally, the CP-X990W offers an anamorphic 16:9 aspect ratio and HDTV-compatibility.
Adding to the CP-X990W's adaptability is its vertical and horizontal keystone correction, which allows for flexible installation regardless of room layout. Furthermore, its multiple inputs, including composite, component, S-Video, RGB and DVI, provide an optimal level of versatility for added ease of use. The projector also features a user-programmable start-up screen and picture-in-picture option for further customization.
In addition to its impressive brightness and image qualities, the CP-X990W features a Whisper Mode that reduces the projector's operating noise with only a minor reduction in brightness. The result is less distraction from ambient noise, allowing viewers to focus on the presentation.
