Formed by employees of Hitachi Group companies in North America, Community Action Committees carry out community services such as volunteer activities and donations at various locations where companies operate.
The Community Action Committees organize and lead a food drive (food donation campaign) every July. Foods and funds collected from employees are donated to local food banks, etc., which distribute food to people in need in the community.
Classroom programs with IT as a theme
Hitachi, Ltd. is providing classroom programs for elementary and junior high school students leveraging its IT resources, with employee volunteers working as lecturers. For elementary school students, we offer a program aimed at improving children's "information morals", and for junior high school students, a program designed to enhance their information literacy by utilizing IT devices. Lectures will be given from the standpoint of an IT company looking at the extent to which IT can be applied towards society in order to enable people to live safely, comfortably, and with peace of mind.
