Dec 2025
On 7 November 2025, nearly 60 Hitachi staff across our Group Companies in Singapore came together as One Hitachi to participate in this year’s internal workshop, themed “What’s next starts with us.”
Serving as the concluding finale to our accumulative efforts in giving back to society, the workshop connected staff across our diverse groups to explore the firm’s future strategic direction, discover our refreshed brand identity, and reaffirm our shared Hitachi values.
We were delighted to be joined by Mr. Shinichi Sakai, Managing Director of Hitachi Asia, Mr. Kyle Tsushima, Deputy Executive General Manager of Global Corporate & Brand Communications Division, Hitachi, Ltd., and Ms. Florence Chow, Chief Administrative Officer of Hitachi Asia Ltd. Their insights and encouragement framed the day’s conversation and reminded everyone that we have a part to play in shaping Hitachi’s next chapter.
The workshop opened with remarks from Mr. Shinichi Sakai, who highlighted the shared responsibility of all employees to embrace change, foster inclusion, and drive innovation. This was followed by a presentation from Mr. Kyle Tsushima on Hitachi’s global brand strategy and the evolution of the “Inspire the next” campaign. The refreshed brand underscores Hitachi’s commitment to Social Innovation, advancing sustainability, resilience, and digital transformation while unifying Group Companies under a clear, future-ready purpose.
The session also featured an educational session from the Corporate Communications Group (CCG) team and team-bonding activities to reinforce the shared message for all participants.
Now in its 9th edition, Hitachi Plays Santa (HPS) has returned with the theme “Light Up a Wish”. Held in conjunction with the internal workshop, this year’s HPS highlights how Hitachi brand and values guide in making meaningful, sustainable contributions to the local community.
HPS also serves as a visual reminder that our corporate purpose extends beyond our workplace, reaffirming Hitachi’s commitment to supporting the people around us and the wider community in Singapore.
With the three acts of kindness that encompass HPS, our efforts reached out to beneficiaries at the South Central Community Family Service Centre (SCCFSC), which supports low-income families and empowers children from disadvantaged backgrounds with access to education, mentorship, and care.
1st act of kindness: Build a Tree
Over 2 months, our staff across 13 Hitachi Group Companies in Singapore donated recycled cups as well as small gifts such as stationery, mini toys, stickers and snacks. During the workshop, they also worked together to build, decorate and pack three handmade Christmas trees from simple, reused materials.
Each tree utilised recycled cardboard as the base and were adorned with the donated cups, now filled with snacks and toys for the children.
The activity showcased genuine harmony, as participants from diverse teams united around a common goal. Their collaboration reflected our shared spirit of creativity, teamwork, and purpose. The finished trees were gifted to SCCFSC, each carefully crafted, stocked with goodies, and ready to bring festive cheer to the beneficiaries.
2nd act of kindness: Grant a Child’s Wish
All in all, our staff fulfilled close to 200 wishes from SCCFSC’s young beneficiaries. Each wish card was adopted, the gifts thoughtfully chosen, purchased and lovingly wrapped.
This act captured what sincerity means to Hitachi: responding to community needs with honesty, compassion, and a personal sense of responsibility. It’s a reminder that even small, heartfelt gestures can leave a meaningful and lasting impact.
3rd act of kindness: Light Up a Wish
Our final act tied together all our Hitachi values, our preparation and our collective efforts. From wrapping gifts to building festive trees, each action embodied our drive to create thoughtful and innovative experiences for children in need. This same spirit fuels the technologies and infrastructure solutions we develop; pioneer innovations designed to uplift communities and generate long-term positive change throughout Singapore and the Southeast Asia region.
On 8 November, 15 Hitachi volunteers visited SCCFSC to present the gifts, joined by Mr Masayuki Takeuchi, Executive General Manager of Global Corporate & Brand Communications Division, Hitachi, Ltd., Mr Kyle Tsushima, and Ms Florence Chow. They spent quality time with the children, helping to make their Christmas joyful and memorable.
The children’s excitement as they unwrapped their presents, marvelled at the trees, and tucked into a festive buffet reminded us of the extraordinary joy that small acts of kindness can bring.
To conclude this year’s HPS, our volunteers spent a day of family fun with the beneficiaries at The Great Christmas Village at Shaw Urban House Plaza, ending with an open-top Hippo bus ride to enjoy the dazzling Christmas lights up close.
Looking beyond this year, we remain focused on the future. At Hitachi, we constantly ask what’s next so we can create it. As we move forward, our commitment to creating positive social impact and advancing sustainable, innovative technologies remains unwavering in the purpose of uplifting our partners, communities, and the world we share.
Guided by our refreshed brand direction and united as One Hitachi, we will continue developing solutions that build a more resilient and inclusive society.
We remain committed to carrying this collaborative spirit into the year ahead, helping to shape a more resilient and promising tomorrow.
