Michele Fracchiolla Succeeds Andrew Barr as President of EMEA region from April 1, 2026

Hitachi Europe Ltd. today announces the appointment of Michele Fracchiolla as President of Hitachi Europe, effective April 1, 2026. Michele succeeds Andrew Barr, who will step down from the role to take a new post outside of Hitachi, following a successful tenure leading the business across the EMEA region.
Andrew Barr has served as President of Hitachi Europe since 2023, during which time he has overseen significant progress in strengthening Hitachi’s presence and growth across EMEA, supporting customers through digital transformation and sustainability initiatives. Andrew has enjoyed a 21-year career with Hitachi, including his previous role as Group CEO of Hitachi Rail.
Michele Fracchiolla is currently Vice President and Executive Officer, President & COO of the Strategic Social Innovation Business (SSIB) Business Unit at Hitachi, Ltd. He brings extensive international experience across strategy, operations and business transformation at Hitachi, having held senior leadership roles spanning multiple geographies and business units including Rail. He has played a key role in driving growth and portfolio evolution within Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business, with a strong focus on customer value, digital solutions and sustainable growth.
