Tokyo, April 19, 2024 – Hitachi, Ltd. ("Hitachi") today announced that Hitachi will participate in "Tokyo Rainbow Pride 2024" for the first time, which to be held in Yoyogi Park in Tokyo for three days from April 19. This event aims to create a society where all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, can live their lives in their own way without discrimination or prejudice, by providing a place to connect with LGBTQ+ people and their supporters, and celebrate the diverse spectrum of sexuality and life.
For its first participation in the event, Hitachi will support the event as a sponsor, placing a display board at the venue and posting various initiatives related to DEI on the event's official website. Participation in this event was proposed and planned by the "LGBTQIA+ ERG", one of Hitachi's Employee Resource Groups*1.
Hitachi recognizes all diversity dimensions, such as background, age, gender, sexuality, family status, disability, race, nationality, ethnicity, and religion, as sources of value. For this reason, the group is committed to creating an equitable and inclusive environment, where everyone, including people belonging to LGBTQIA+ community, feel accepted and valued, able to speak up and contribute.
