Is Sustainable Energy Really Possible?

"The move into renewables is the only way forward to stop climate change."

Two small islands at opposite ends of Europe are making big strides towards net zero by harnessing wind and solar energy to provide clean, safe and reliable power for local communities and beyond. Watch the film and find out how Shetland is using HVDC cables to make electricity from the North Sea wind available to the UK grid. While 4,000km to the south, Porto Santo's smart micro-grid and battery storage system is also accelerating the shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy.

"Collaborations are crucial for the success of our targets to become net zero. It would not be possible for Hitachi to develop the projects alone."
