Explanation

An encryption standard adopted by the US government. AES is a block cipher ratified by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as US Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) PUB 197 in November 2001. AES supports a block size of 128 bits and key sizes of 128, 192, and 256 bits.
