Mexico, May 20, 2026 Hitachi Rail has signed a contract for a value of ~ EUR 168M for the design, development, supply, installation, and commissioning of the railway systems of the Saltillo–Nuevo Laredo corridor. The contract is part of the Mexican Government's ambitious program to reactivate and expand passenger rail transport in the country and will boost regional economic development.

All these components make up a next-generation railway infrastructure, framed within Phase I of the national passenger train program.
