Discussion status on Horizon's Wylfa nuclear project
with the UK Government toward the final investment decision

Tokyo, 5 June 2018 --- Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501, "Hitachi") announced that it has welcomed the statement from Greg Clark, UK Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, on 4 June (GMT) on the new nuclear power construction project at Wylfa Newydd on Isle of Anglesey (Horizon Project), which indicates progress in the discussions to date between the parties.

Hitachi will make its final investment decision for Horizon Project, after applying project assessment in terms of economic rationality as a private company while continuing discussion with the British Government.
