Establishment of a New Company in China for the Electric Vehicle Motor Business
Tokyo, November 20, 2017 --- Hitachi Automotive Electric Motor Systems, Ltd. today announced that it established Hitachi Automotive Electric Motor Systems (Guangzhou) Ltd. on November 17 in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province in the People's Republic of China as a new company for the development, manufacture and sales of motors for electric vehicles (EVs). The construction of buildings such as the plant and office will start in June 2018. Completion is planned for June 2019, with the start of mass production targeted for fiscal year 2020.
With the establishment of this new company, Hitachi Automotive Electric Motor Systems will further strengthen its business base in the Chinese EV market, which is poised to rapidly expand in the future, while also responding to increasing demand for EV motors in China.
