Environmental Activities

Hitachi

[Image] There is a strong link between forests and the earth. Growing forests and pruning and using trees lead to improvements in our environment.

  1. 1.What's going on with our forests now? What can we do about it?
  2. 2. How should the forests be saved? Let's take real action!
  3. 3. After the volunteer activity...

Forests in Japan are now faced with devastation, and this destruction of forests is by something other than acid rain and land development. However, what else on earth could be wrong? This question inspired us to hold the 'Forest Growing Volunteer Activity', a Hitachi volunteer seminar, in Kamikawa Town (former Kamiizumi Village), Saitama Prefecture, in order to consider the questions of 'What's going on in the forests in Japan?' and 'How should the forests be saved?'
