Our LCD TVs that have our original backlight system controlling LED light emission and energy saving features contribute to reduce power consumption. In home appliances such as air conditioners and refrigerators, which use a large share of home power consumption, we are continuously developing environment-conscious models with higher energy-saving performance. The technologies we develop for these products enables to reduce their annual power consumption. As we develop home appliances, we are also keenly aware of the need to recycle them. We promote resource recycling through measures such as creating high-quality durable goods of value and recovering chemicals which may give environmental burden. These efforts help to reduce embodied energy, reduce CO2 emissions, and realize a material-cycle society.
