The Hitachi Group is enhancing its IT and security functions and strengthening collaboration between them to support global business expansion and reinforce its management foundation. We will integrate the previously dispersed strategy formulation and control functions for IT and security and enhance Group-wide policy formulation and controls. This enables us to advance strategy and risk response within a consistent framework, accelerate decision-making, and improve the effectiveness of initiatives.

In addition, we will develop an integrated operating framework for the IT and security functions that have been deployed by individual business divisions. As the business portfolio has evolved, we have made the use of common IT the basic principle while permitting individual IT tailored to the characteristics of each business. Taking these circumstances into account and respecting the characteristics of each business division, we will redesign the Hitachi Group’s IT and security control standards and strengthen governance that combines consistency and effectiveness.

As a specific initiative, we will strengthen two-way communication between the corporate division and individual business divisions to further expand business division participation in the rule/standard formulation process, more accurately reflect each division's characteristics, and establish highly effective rules and standards that ensure diversity, agility, and economic rationality. Furthermore, by strengthening cross-business-division monitoring led by the corporate division, we will improve monitoring accuracy and enable sound assessments based on consistent standards throughout the Group.

Through these initiatives, the Hitachi Group will further strengthen its global IT and security functions while promoting the development of a flexible and robust digital management platform that supports business growth.
